My first KDP Select promotion started this morning and the results have been spectacular. Ashes of Honor has jumped onto the Amazon Bestseller List for the first time and currently sits at #3 in the Science Fiction Space Opera category, putting me ahead of some serious big name authors.
When you look at the rankings from a broader perspective, Ashes ranks #34 in Science Fiction overall. That puts me ahead of Hugh Howey's Wool (which has been free for some time now) so I feel like I'm in good company. He has a production deal with Ridley Scott—just sayin'...
H.G. Wells' The Time Machine and The War of the Worlds are just ahead of me. So I've still got my work cut out for me. It might be hard to climb much higher in this broad Science Fiction Bestseller List as Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley's Frankenstein and Robert Louis Stevenson's The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde are going to be pretty hard to knock off! But is sure is fun thinking about it!!
Congratulations!
